For the last ten years, the Down Syndrome Association-National Capital Region (DSA-NCR) has relied upon it's Annual DSA-NCR Charity Golf Classic, at ClubLink's Kanata Golf and Country Club for a large percentage of their operating costs. Unfortunally, this year, it won't happen;

“2013 Down Syndrome Association – National Capital Region Charity Golf Classic After ten years of delivering a first class golf tournament, the Down Syndrome Association – National Capital Region (DSA-NCR) is sad to announce that it has made a very difficult decision and cancelled the 2013 Charity Golf Classic, slated to occur on Monday, August 12, 2013. As a not-for-profit association, the DSA-NCR has relied on the charity and generosity of others to raise funds to support our membership and activities. This year, economic realities have negatively impacted golfer registrations and sponsorships. The DSA-NCR has decided to preserve the beautiful memory and integrity of the Charity Golf Classic, and take a step back this year to re-assess future fundraising activities. We know we have an amazing community of supporters, and we sincerely appreciate each and every one of you. Please see below for refund details. We look forward to re-connecting with you in the near future, and hope we can rely on your support again.”

Our raffle was a huge success. We raised $1480 from donating 50% of our services for the day and $1467 from the raffle and donations, giving us a total of $2947. A big Thank You to both our sponsors and those that showed their support by buying tickets and/or donating $. All winners have been contacted, a list of said winners is available for viewing in the reception area of Joint Reaction. Again thanks to all involved and stay tuned for our next event....

 Joint Reaction's Scott Mooney, has had a strong connection with DSA-NRC, having volunteered at this event for the last 10 years; “ Wonderful people and amazing organization. Lots of laughs and occasionally some tears during the speeches and awards during the dinner and live auction after. For them to lose such an important fundraising event will have many ripples and affect numerous people and families.”

 On Monday August 12, 2013, Joint Reaction is donating 50% of all revenue generated on that day plus any donations we receive. Donations of $20 or more will receive a Joint Reaction sport water bottle, depending on supply. We will also be holding a raffle, offering some interesting items donated by local caring businesses. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the DSA-NCR. To see who's donating prizes for our raffle and what those prizes are, please scroll down the page or click here.
